The Bonnie Young Fund Allows Pancreatic Cancer Patients to Receive Promising New Treatments in the Philippines.

At 53 years old, Vernell “Bonnie” Young was a dedicated wife, mother of four, grandmother of five, and special friend to many. She passed away at her home in Camarillo, CA, on May 18th, after a brave and courageous battle against pancreatic cancer.

Larry Young, Bonnie’s husband, contacted Lazarex Cancer Foundation for assistance with a FDA clinical trial for a promising new drug, Rexin G. However, the trial was closed and, sadly, Bonnie passed away while they pursued other options.  During her chemotherapy treatments Bonnie met and befriended two other women with pancreatic cancer, and together they provided encouragement and support for each other. It was Bonnie’s expressed desire that her friends and others with this devastating disease receive Rexin G, if not in the United States in clinical trial, then in the Philippines where it is commercially available.

Thanks to Larry Young, who has worked tirelessly (along with family and friends) to raise the funds to make Bonnie’s desire a reality, people with pancreatic cancer now have the gift of another treatment option.

Join Larry Young to help others with pancreatic cancer on Bonnie’s behalf.
