2009 Hope In Motion ½ Marathon and 5/10K Event

Who: We welcome everyone to join us - whether you are an experienced runner or walker, or a beginner.
Join an enthusiastic group of people who are making the most of their training program and doing something to give back in the process. If you've ever imagined walking or running in a Half Marathon or 5/10K event, now is your opportunity to reach for the finish line! Regardless of your fitness level, as a participant, you will be given the tools necessary to get ready for a great finish at the second annual Lazarex Cancer Foundation Hope In Motion Half Marathon, 5/10K on Sept. 13, 2009 (Lake Merritt, Oakland, CA) Let's have lots of fun doing this, because we're all about making the most of the time we have! Help us fulfill our mission of providing resources for cancer patients who have been told they have no other options, but who are not yet done with their journey in life and refuse to give up now.
After the event, join us for a “Summer of Love” concert featuring The Sun Kings. Anyone is welcome to attend the celebration concert. Admission to the concert is free for all Lazarex Cancer Foundation Hope In Motion participants and just $25 for all other guests.
Lazarex Cancer Foundation provides financial assistance to defray the costs associated with patient participation in FDA clinical trials. Additionally, we help patients navigate their clinical trial options and provide community education and outreach services. Through these services, we build a bridge to hope, life and dignity for cancer patients and their families. We believe that together we can change the face of cancer.

Online Fundraising
Your participation in the event already makes you a winner! You can cross this finish line and give hope to cancer patients at the same time by participating in the optional fundraising program for Lazarex Cancer Foundation.
A fundraising page will automatically be created once you register online. You have the option to personalize this page and invite friends & family to make online donations. An email will be sent on how to access your fundraising page immediately after you register.

Motion:
$50 for the ½ marathon
$35 for the 5K & 10K
Summer of Love concert: $25 (included with race fees)

Hope in Motion participant training includes
- The opportunity to train with other Hope in Motion participants in the Bay Area
- "Steps for Success" covering issues such as nutrition, hydration and endurance building.
- Personal access to a coach, via e-mail and telephone.
Hope in Motion participant fundraising includes
- A personalized fundraising webpage you can customize with your story and goals
- Samples of effective fundraising letters
- Help creating a fundraising email blast
- Assistance with learning about the businesses in your area that will support your fundraising efforts and how to approach them
- Advice on how to develop your personal network of supporters
- Access to your personal Fundraising Coach via phone or email for any fundraising questions
- $500 - $999: Hope in Motion sport duffel bag or travel mug (your choice)
- $1000 - $2499: All of the above + Hope in Motion carry-and-go lined weatherproof fleece and nylon stadium blanket
